About Tom Lund-Lack
After more than 30 years of creativity I guess by now I count as an experienced artist, nevertheless there is always more to learn, no artist can ever say they know it all! It is my belief that ‘Art’ is a very small word having an enormous meaning, so appreciation of every piece becomes a subjective judgement. Individuality rules and no artist or work can please everyone. Andy Warhol as quite clear about this when he said “Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”
By using a variety of media – acrylic, ink, collage, mixed media and oil in arrangements of shape, line, pattern and colour powerful expressions of life and movement are conjured up. The power of imagination is essential to find the essence of the subject and to create the illusory world that lies inside an artwork. “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” Edgar Degas
Originally from Devon I moved with my family to Hong Kong in the 50s, it became home and the place where I grew up, this was followed by a move to New Zealand and finally back to the UK. I now live in Suffolk having moved here from London in 1988. I was the chairman of Suffolk Open Studios for 8 years and in 2009 the founder of ArtActiv, a company which through the medium of art workshops, brought the joy of creativity to disabled children and young people across Suffolk.
My paintings have been seen, exhibited and collected in Galleries, Art Fairs, Marine and Equestrian Shows in the UK and the USA as well as being featured in Equestrian publications throughout the U.K.
